What is ACT?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based, mindfulness-based approach that helps you develop psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present with your experiences and take action guided by your values, even when facing difficult thoughts or emotions.
As a doctoral-level clinical psychologist, I use ACT to help you stop struggling against painful thoughts and feelings, and instead learn to accept them while pursuing what truly matters to you.
Core Principles of ACT:

-
Acceptance: Make room for difficult thoughts and feelings without fighting them
-
Mindfulness: Stay present and aware of your experiences in the moment
-
Values Clarification: Identify what truly matters to you in life
-
Committed Action: Take concrete steps toward your values, even when it's difficult
